My name is Alex Julian, I am starting a GoFundMe the family of Tyler Faulkner who is survived through his brother Cameron and his sister Savannah.

Tyler was a veteran of the US Army and saw combat in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. He graduated from Lynchburg College with degrees in history and education.

While pursuing his education and after graduating, he worked for an organization called Dry Dock in his home state of Delaware; he drove people struggling with addiction to treatment facilities.

Shortly after college, he worked as a teacher at a Catholic school in Delaware. After some time, the school unfortunately closed down and he moved to San Antonio, TX to begin teaching here.

He worked as a teacher at Providence Catholic School, an all girl’s school in downtown San Antonio serving middle school and high school students. Many of his students were on scholarship. He was beloved there and took it upon himself to support the students in their extra curriculars outside of standard work hours. He was planning to pursue his Master’s degree and move into administration.

Recently he had unexpectedly been experiencing problems which became linked to his gall bladder. He had awaited long wait times through the VA hospital but had finally been booked for surgery. It is with a heavy heart that i share he experienced abnormal complications from the surgery and after some time spent in a coma, the decision was made to take him off of life support.

This fundraiser is being used to financially help support Cameron and Savannah in this time. Both are taking time off of work so they may appropriately grieve and tend to their brother's affairs. This money will be helping them towards meals, a plane ticket for Savannah to attend the service, and other related living costs.
