Assist Troy's Family During Medical Crisis

Hi I’m Melissa, Troy’s wife. Troy is a very proud man who doesn’t like to ask for “hand outs”, so it was a hard decision to create this gofundme, but unfortunately bills don’t stop and they don’t wait…

This all started Monday 6/2/25. Troy was complaining of an excruciating migraine on the left side of his neck and head and said he had the sensation he needed to drool. I was worried he was having a stroke, so I checked him for symptoms of that and thankfully it wasn’t that. Tuesday he started experiencing a sore throat and a temp of 102.9, so we thought strep since it’s going around. Wednesday he went to urgent care and they barely looked and him and swabbed his throat and said she didn’t have strep, but they prescribed him antibiotics and gave him an oral steroid. Thursday morning he started to feel like his throat was closing up and he couldn’t breathe, so I left work and rushed him to the ER in Redmond. In the ER he started choking and gasping for air which was extremely scary. They did a CT scan and blood work and found that he had a large abscess in his throat, extremely high white blood cell count, and epiglottis. The ER told him they needed to transport him to the Bend hospital to have the abscess drained. Once in Bend the ENT surgeons told us they need to drain the abscess and possibly remove his left tonsil and they he will be in ICU intubated and sedated for 1-2 days. Surgery went well and they only had to do a partial tonsillectomy on that left tonsil and drain the abscess. However his throat was already so swollen that they couldn’t be sure if they got all of the abscess. He has been in the ICU since Thursday night and we were hoping he would get his tubes out today and be on the mend. Well he had a CT scan this morning and we just found out he will need to go back into surgery unfortunately to drain more of that abscess. Putting us behind for healing time again. He will get this second surgery at some point today and then he will once again be intubated and sedated until at least Tuesday when they rescan him and see if they finally got all of the abscess. I have been by his side this entire time along with his brother Tyler and his mom Jeri. I will also be taking time off once we finally get to go home to take care of him at home.

Unfortunately neither of us are able to work at this time and bills don’t just stop and we have children who need us to be able to work to care for them. I am asking for assistance with paying our bills, our rent, electricity, groceries, etc. Please donate or share this post and please pray for Troy.

We love you and appreciate you all ❤️
