Hello friends,
I bring heartbreaking news and a plea for help.

A lot of you in the Elizabethtown area are very familiar with Lee "Dad" Walters. He is a US Veteran and a long time volunteer for our youth sports. Last year his nightmare began on 2/15/2024 when he went in for an operation to reverse a colostomy, but that was not successful. Within a few weeks of the failed surgery, April 2024 to be exact, it was revealed that Lee has Multiple Myeloma from contaminated water during his time faithfully serving at Camp Lejeune. Since that diagnosis, things just went from bad to worse. Aside from the continued delays in diagnosis, for many complications, Executive Orders were issued with a cut off date to be compensated for Camp Lejeune "injuries" that Lee and his family had just missed. Because of the very VERY prolonged hospitalization, Lee was also terminated from his employment, and all benefits he worked his entire life for are now gone. His wife & children are being left with a measly $2000 from Veteran's Affairs to cover expenses. Here we are, only a year from his cancer diagnosis and Lee has just passed as I am constructing this plea for assistance.

I am asking for the community's help in lifting this family up, not only in prayer, but also in financial support if you are able and feel compelled. I want Jen and the kids to be able to memorialize Lee in the way he deserves. Please, if you have had a relationship with Lee or any of his family members, if he and his family have impacted your life for the better as they have so many, please share this. We could never in our wildest dreams have imagined that a man who worked so hard his whole life could be hung out to dry in the manner that Lee has been, but here we are. And we need your help. All funds will go to Jennifer Walters to lay her husband and father of her children to rest in the dignified manner he deserves. If you can not assist financially, please pray for this family and share this fundraiser. Thank you all in advance.
