On Wednesday November 26, the Murphy family experienced the unthinkable. Seventeen year old Mitch Murphy Jr. was found deceased in his bedroom by his younger brother.

Mitch, affectionately known as Junior, was the oldest of the three Murphy boys and named after his father Mitch Murphy Sr. Junior was a senior at Eastern Alamance High School and just weeks shy of his eighteenth birthday. Standing well over six feet tall, but extremely shy, he was known to his family as a gentle giant. Junior was often quiet but if you were fortunate to get to know him you could see his amazing personality. He loved swimming, playing video games and hanging out with his family. He was full of laughter and often had a huge smile when he was around his brothers. He was loved dearly by those who knew him and will be missed by many.

As you can imagine, no parent wants to bury their child, and most are unprepared for such a tragedy. The Murphy’s desperately need our help laying their eldest son to rest. All funds donated will go directly towards funeral expenses for Junior.
