Anyone who has had the honor of meeting the Jacobs' clan is immediately struck by their warmth, kindness, and strong sense of family. It was, therefore, with great sadness that we learned that our friend Mark died unexpectedly on November 12th. His wife, Lori, and children, Jon, Jenna, Lindsay, Chynna, and Matthew, were struck with the unimaginable and heartbreaking news that their beloved husband and dad was taken from them too early and without time to prepare.

Mark was truly one of a kind. It was remarkable how his strong bear-like body hid the softest and kindest heart. To know him was to know a loyal friend with a big laugh, a great sense of humor, and an endless supply of stories. He enjoyed old Westerns and thrillers, a good sweet treat, his morning cup of joe, summer days by the water, mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving, sharing family history, and evenings with a glass of Maker’s Mark.

Above all, Mark cherished his family. He passionately loved his wife, Lori, whom he often just looked at, lovingly shaking his head and laughing. He was incredibly proud of his children — Jon, Jenna, Lindsay, Chynna, and Matthew. He encouraged them, believed in them, and reminded them often, “I will always have your back.”

As the Jacobs’ family navigates this devastating time, they are seeking financial support to help cover funeral and burial expenses, as well as living costs for Mark’s wife, Lori. Any contribution, big or small, would deeply support them during this incredibly difficult moment.
