On November 5, 2025, Dave was taken to the emergency room for what we believed was a pinched nerve in his neck, which was causing weakness on the right side of his body. After a CT scan, doctors discovered multiple lesions on the left side of his brain — one of which had bled and caused significant swelling.
He was transferred to a larger hospital, where he underwent extensive testing, including a brain biopsy, to determine the cause of these lesions. The initial findings showed no abnormal cells or tissue, which was encouraging, but we are still awaiting final pathology results for a definitive diagnosis.
Because the bleeding and swelling affected his strength and mobility, Dave has lost much of the use of his right arm and leg. He is now being transferred to a rehabilitation hospital, where he will work intensively to regain function, independence, and stability while doctors continue building the best long-term treatment plan.
This sudden medical crisis has left Dave unable to work for the foreseeable future. Dave does not receive any disability benefits while he is out on FMLA, meaning the family has lost an entire income overnight. This has created tremendous financial strain as they try to manage daily needs while facing ongoing medical challenges.
We are asking for support to help Dave, Danielle, and their young daughters — Makenzie (8) and Isabel (3) — as they navigate this overwhelming and uncertain time.
Donations will go directly toward groceries, utilities, medical expenses, and other essential needs, allowing the family to focus on healing and recovery.
Any support — whether a monetary contribution, a gift card, or simply sharing this fundraiser — is deeply appreciated and will make a meaningful difference.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and continued support for the Hoover Family during this incredibly challenging journey.
