Help Us Lay Rodney "DJ Higgy" Higgins to Rest
On Friday, March 21, 2025, we lost an incredible man—Rodney Joseph Higgins, a beloved husband, father, and Pappy, who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 58. Rod was the heartbeat of our family, a fun-loving soul whose infectious laughter and zest for life lit up every room he entered. Known as "DJ Higgy," he was the life of the party, always spinning the perfect tune to get everyone dancing and smiling.
Rod leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Katherine Higgins, who was his rock and partner in every adventure; his children, Jessica (Michael), Katie (Alex), and Jacob (Leeann); and his adored grandchildren, Eden, Maria, and Cooper, who were the light of his world. He also leaves his mother, Annette Toth, and countless friends who will forever miss his playful spirit. Rod was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Higgins Jr., and father-in-law, George J. Schneider Jr.
A passionate outdoorsman, Rod loved golfing, fishing, and sharing his enthusiasm for guns with those close to him. Some of his happiest moments were spent riding bikes with his granddaughters or casting a line into the water, creating memories that will live on in all of us. Music was his magic—he could turn any gathering into a celebration, and his love for family and friends shone through in every beat he played.
Right now, our family is grappling with the unbearable loss of Rod and the harsh reality that we don’t have the funds to give him the farewell he deserves. We’re reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your help. Funeral costs are overwhelming, and we want to honor Rod’s vibrant life with a service that reflects the joy he brought to ours. Service details are still pending as we work through this difficult time.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will help us lay Rod to rest with the love and dignity he embodied every day. If you can’t donate, please share this page—your support in any form means the world to us. Let’s come together to celebrate Rodney Joseph Higgins, a man who lived life to the fullest and left us all better for knowing him.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
