My name is Kenard Dillon, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my siblings. We recently experienced the sudden loss of our paternal grandmother and family matriarch, Aleathia Dillon, on the night of September 18, 2025. I am currently out of the country for the foreseeable future, thus unable to be present when we lay her to rest on the 29th. Additionally, this moment comes at a very rough financial situation for my brothers and sister, who are compelled to travel to assist with the funeral and settle estate affairs throughout the next week.

 

This sudden loss comes at a precarious time. My siblings all work blue-collar jobs, and taking a week or more off work to travel will create a significant financial strain, impacting their ability to cover basic living expenses and housing costs. The funds raised will contribute to offsetting their absences from work, transportation, and accommodation, and general living expenses. The past few weeks have been incredibly taxing on my family, and I hope to help them as much as I can while abroad.

 

The funds raised from this campaign will go directly to my siblings to help cover lost wages from their time away from work, transportation and accommodation costs for their travel, as well as general living expenses during this difficult period. I want to alleviate some of the burden they are facing so they can focus on honoring our grandmother and supporting each other, without the added stress of financial instability. Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to us.
