Hi Everyone:

Our family is facing the heartbreaking reality of saying goodbye to someone we love deeply. Dan's dad was diagnosed with cancer several months ago. True to his 'give 'em hell' spirit, we were hopeful he'd have many more years with us. But sadly, the cancer has been far more aggressive than any of us realized.

Just a couple weeks ago, he made the decision to stop treatment and enter hospice care. Since then, his health has declined much more quickly than expected.

Dan (my cousin's husband) has taken on much of the responsibility during this difficult time, and we're hoping to help him manage the financial strain of cremation and final expenses. Dan had to do this exact thing years ago when his mom passed from cancer. His dad was a proud veteran and small business owner who spent years doing roofing and home repairs around town- always working hard and helping others. It's incredibly hard to imagine life without him.

In addition to cremation costs, we're hoping to raise a little extra to help Bev, his dad's partner, in their home. She hasn't been able to work while caring for him and could use some support while she grieves and regains her footing.
