UPDATE, JUNE 29: Thank you to all who have donated and shared!
Sherye has had some unexpected issues come up related to Steve’s final expenses. I’ve opened the GoFundMe back up to round out the fund to help offset it so she doesn’t have to struggle. Thank you for continuing to share so we can reach as many people as possible.

UPDATE, JUNE 17: Steve’s celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025. Sherye smiled HUGE and said, “That’s what it will be. A celebration. A celebration of Steve!”
Dwyer Funeral Home is handling Steve with utmost care and respect. I recently saw a friend and she said her youngest daughter had gone in to mortuary sciences. I was happy she was loving her career choice. I asked my friend, “What made her choose that field. Death is so somber.” She said of her daughter, “She told us, ‘It’s the last loving act you can do for anyone, and I want to ensure they get respect.’”
As I walked away, it hit me how correct she is. Truly, the people in the funeral business are our loved ones’ final advocates. What an honor to be entrusted with their remains, and what a truly honorable profession.
Sherye has been so pleased with Dwyer. And I’m so very glad she’s in such good hands as she navigates uncharted waters, and for the first time in 36 years, without her best friend by her side. She and Kassie are honoring who Steve was, and what he wanted. In doing so, they will offer a lovely sense of closure for everyone.
UPDATE, JUNE 16: Sherye will be meeting with the Dwyer Funeral Home to discuss details. Steve will be cremated and placed in an urn. His ashes will remain with Sherye until a celebration of life is held. In the fall, she will scatter his ashes among the beautiful trees, as his favorite scent was pine and he loved nature.
Funeral home expenses for Steve need to be raised, as he was unable to ever obtain life insurance due to lifelong diabetes and renal failure.
Any amount is a blessing and will help ease the stress of having lost Steve, who left us last evening. Thank you for sharing! Thank you for donating if you can.
