Assist Sonya in Giving Her Mom a Farewell

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sonya. I am the daughter of Anita Waters. I recently lost my mom to cancer on May 30th. I can’t express the sadness you go through when you lose a parent. It’s gut wrenching and makes you feel sick inside. It’s the feeling of nothing but pure grief.

My mom was battling cancer for over 2 and a half years. She did every type of treatment you can think of. From radiation, to chemotherapy, and 8 hour painful infusions with cancer oral medication. All of which left her more and more mentally confused and unable to do anything physically on her own. While she was doing treatment, I had to make the decision to also take the time off from work to help her. This was challenging for me because I am self employed. I don’t have sick pay or qualify for the caretaker income that one could receive because I was self employed. If I’m not able to work I make zero income. Unfortunately, I had no one who was able to help me during this time with my mom while she was sick. So it made it nearly impossible to try to go to work when I needed to. I also lived and worked 2 hours away from my mom’s residence which complicated it even more.

During this time, my brother passed away a year and a half ago. It was heartbreaking to have to see your mom mourning the loss of her son while going through treatments. Prior to that, in Nov 2018, my mom lost her home and everything she owned in the Campfire in Paradise, California. My mom was trapped along with others who were all trying to flee from the flames that were burning everything all around them. During this emergency evacuation, she witnessed people and animals die in the most horrific way. Which left her with severe PTSD in the aftermath.

In the last 5 years of my mom’s life, she really went through so much heartbreak. It makes her passing so much more emotional for me because of how much she went through. I’m asking for any amount of donation to help me pay for my mom’s cremation and to be able to give her a service that she rightfully deserves. So that she may finally rest in peace.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. Even if you’re unable to make a donation, please share this if you can. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

-I love you, mom. I’m going to miss you so much. ♥️
