Support for Caitlyn Sammon's children and family
Donation protected
This fundraiser has been set up for my sister who passed away on July 2nd, 2024, at 6:48pm.
Caitlyn had been struggling with her health since August of 2023 until now, being in and out of the hospital numerous times. After many tests and visits to the doctor, they were having a difficult time diagnosing what was wrong with her, which was frustrating for both her and her family. We still are not sure what was ailing her all this time. She fought very hard throughout this ordeal. Having to stay at home and being unable to work was extremely difficult for her as she loved helping people and took great pride in helping to support her family. Even at her worst, Caitlyn always gave her very best to be there for her family, long-time partner, Jason, and her two children, Iris and TJ. She had been improving in recent months and was even able to go back to work part time so we were all very hopeful that she would soon be back to her best again.
On the night of July 1st, 2024, her health took a sudden turn for the worse and she had a health emergency at her home. She was unable to breathe and was rushed to the St. Alexius hospital emergency room by ambulance. Upon arrival, she then fell into a coma. She was on a ventilator through the night and most of the next day. Around 4pm on Tuesday, July 2nd, the IV which was providing her heart medications, burst. It was at that point we made the most difficult decision to let her go.
Caitlyn’s wishes for her end-of-life plan were granted. Unfortunately, she leaves behind two young children and her family now has a large burden related to hospital bills, funeral expenses, and providing for her children. Her partner, Jason, has been very much involved with raising the children for the past several years. In the short term, this will affect his ability to work. Additionally, there will likely be expenses for therapy for the children.
We graciously ask that you consider donating to help this grieving family get through what will be an extremely difficult time for them. Anything helps and even if you just share this with your friends, family, and colleagues we will forever be grateful. Thank you so very much from the bottom of all our hearts. We miss Caitlyn dearly as she was such a bright light to all of us. She will always be in our thoughts and an angel looking down upon us.
Update on 7/3/2024: We are still waiting on the test results to give us the answers we all want as to why Caitlyn has now left us. Funeral arrangements have now been made. Cremation will take place. There will be a gathering for friends and family starting at 6pm on Monday, July 8th at DaWise Perry Funeral Home in Mandan. The funeral service will follow at 7pm. All are welcome to join and celebrate Caitlyn’s life. We ask that you wear color as that is what Caitlyn would have wanted.
