Assist Sara After a Life-Changing Attack

My name is Sara Marie Flavin and although I'm blessed to be here to tell my story this is something I never imagined would happen to me.

Something I never thought I'd have to recover from.

Something that is still very raw for me to recount. That being said, the next few sentences are very difficult for me to write.

June 1st, 2024 while performing routine duties at my place of business, I was attacked by a homeless man at knifepoint and held captive in the single toilet men's room. He believed I was possessed by a "demon" named "Eve" where at which point he proceeded to slit my throat in an attempt to end my life.

Since that awful day, I have been desperately trying to heal. While my physical wounds have healed for the most part, I'm burdened with mental wounds that just won't seem to mend. At the same time, I'm also struggling to pay my bills and resume my life as it was. I'm fearful and anxious everywhere I go so, I generally avoid going anywhere. I don't sleep well or very much because this horrific scenario haunts me so thoroughly. This has all affected me very deeply and my whole life has changed trajectory because of it. I am still doing my best to keep my head above water, taking it day by day and I've been appointed a therapist through worker's compensation.

The criminal case is still open and on going.

Recently, the bodycam footage has surfaced on YouTube and Tiktok. It's so unbelievably upsetting and completely bewildering it leaves me angry and even further deeply hurt. It has stirred up so many unsettling thoughts and emotions for me, it feels as though it's just happened and I'm going through it all over again.

Truthfully, my pride didn't want me to do this and has held me back from doing this up until now but in hopes maybe someone could help me.. even just a little ..and after the encouragement of a few individuals I decided to make this gofundme.
