Assist Rodney in Overcoming Homelessness
Donation protected
I'm Rodney, and I just got my first apartment, after 27 years of homelessness.
Unfortunately, the Charity Organization that got me here, only pays the move in costs. The rest is up to me.
I can't work, because I've had a Disability Claim pending for almost 3 years now. So, I do what I can, but it still isn't enough!
I sell plasma each week, go to the grocery store, with a cardboard sign that says: "NEED GROCERIES, PLEASE HELP", and I go to the Church twice a week , for a bag of groceries.
I don't have a stove, hotpot, hat plate, refrigerator, or an oven right now. And, I don't even have a fitted sheet for my twin bed.
And, it doesn't make things any easier, knowing that I've got to ask other adults to help me, when I SHOULD be helping myself, like everyone else does.
But, the fact of the matter is, I have severe Mental Health diagnosis, that cause me to wander off, and not pay attention to what I'm doing.
I can't keep a job, because eventually, my psychosis kicks in and, I either get fired, or wander aimlessly off of the work site, eventually causing me to slip back into homelessness, all over again.
It's happened enough times, already, that I already know what the end effects are. So, I figure, if I draw the Disability, at least I'll be able to rent a room, if nothing else.
At least I won't be without a home anymore!
The bills are already raising their ugly heads: $1000/month rent, $350/month utilities, $300,$350/ month in food, $55.00/month phone bill, Laundry washing 4 times a month, Toilet paper, body wash, shampoo, razors, bus fair, etc.
Any donations will go toward these things, plus I'm saving up for a refrigerator, and stove, as well.
Like I said earlier, I'm not real proud of myself for having to ask those that take care of themselves. But, it's either ask, do without, or break the law to make ends meat.
I have no friends, or family to speak of, and nowhere else to turn to, except the public.
I really have no choice!
Please help me help myself, with either cash, or material possessions.
Every little bit helps and there's always the chance that we might be able to barter for things, as well.
Thank you and God Bless you all.
Respectfully,
Rodney McQuiston
