On the morning of October 28th, my dad, Richard Louzon, was driving his granddaughter to work. The day was routine as he had done this countless times before. He loved it. That day was no exception. He was about to turn east on US 30, at Queen Rd after his traffic light was green, indicating he could proceed, when he was blindsided by a semi-truck heading west, in which the driver failed to stop at his red light. My dad was struck on the driver's side and passed away while being airlifted to the hospital. His granddaughter miraculously survived.

Dad was your typical "every man's man." He loved the outdoors (especially fishing), could fix about anything, and could even make the most beautiful evergreen centerpieces to adorn tables around Christmas. The word "stranger" was never in his vocabulary. He could talk to anyone about anything, everything, and nothing all at the same time. He loved looking at pennies. He would go to the 1st Source Bank in Walkerton, IN to exchange two dollars' worth (four rolls) of rolled pennies for four more rolls. He was determined to find those pennies with flaws that would be more valuable than your typical penny.

His departure has left a large void in the hearts and minds of all who knew him and loved him. Unfortunately, his life insurance policy was nowhere near what my mom, his wife of almost 45 years, had thought and she needs help with covering the cost of funeral expenses, as well as other expenses that will arise before any settlement can be made.
