I’m Raye, I’m 27 years old and currently living in Des Moines, Iowa. I am a nonbinary transfemme (she/they) individual and have been medically transitioning for about a year and a half.

Throughout all of my life, I’ve experienced gender dysphoria, and one of my main goals when deciding to medically transition was to finally match my outside appearance to what I’ve always envisioned myself to be; which led me to seek out Facial Feminization Surgery.

Starting July 1st, all Medicaid coverage for gender-affirming care in Iowa will be cut, meaning I will be forced to pay for this surgery entirely out of pocket.

I know times are tough right now for everyone, but if you have the means, I would be so grateful if you’d consider donating to help alleviate some of the financial stress from the surgery itself & the following weeks that I will be out of work for recovery. Anything helps.
