Assist Paula Moser in Her Time of Need

My name is Jennifer Stroud. I am creating this GoFundMe* for my dear friend and godmother, Paula Moser, who lost her husband Gary on August 22, 2024, after a very long and difficult illness. Paula and Gary worked tirelessly as stewards of the land as wilderness river outfitters, and as medics for the Forest Service in wildland fire operations. Gary was very well known in his local community as an EMT and river outfitter; some folks from the fire line may remember him by his nickname “Wingnut”.

Paula is not one to sit and talk about problems or tasks to be done; she is often found solving the problems or completing the tasks, with quiet resolve and patience. If someone is in need, Paula will give endlessly of the resources she has, which is usually service, compassion, and often a simple and delicious home-cooked meal. She is a safe harbor, who is now in need. I am turning to you, as Paula needs our help.

We are creating this GoFundMe to assist Paula with end-of-life expenses, medical bills, and the upcoming financial obligations. She is also in critical need of an alternate heating source. Though she is very strong and capable, keeping her home heated with a wood-burning stove throughout the cold winter months in Salmon, Idaho, is a very daunting task. PTSD must be dealt with truthfully and not masked with drugs and alcohol. There is nothing harder than watching a loved one drift away, unable to help, but still trying.
