Dear Friends and Family,

Papa Juan was a pillar of strength and love in our lives, dividing his time between Mexico, where he was surrounded by his family and received care from his sisters, and the United States, where he shared precious moments with all of his children.

What began as a routine visit to the ER for a twisted ankle quickly escalated, leading Papa Juan to the ICU. Despite the efforts of the medical team and the unwavering support of his family, Papa Juan peacefully passed away on March 17, surrounded by his loved ones. We were able to convey our final messages of love and bid him farewell before he departed this world.

The days following his passing were a whirlwind of grief and arrangements, culminating in his burial in Mexico by March 23. As we navigated through the emotional turmoil of losing our beloved father, we were faced with the daunting task of settling his affairs and managing his expenses in both countries. Unfortunately, Papa Juan did not have life insurance, and his battle with diabetes, which claimed one of his legs eight years ago, rendered him unable to work.

Our mother, who still works tirelessly cleaning houses, and our siblings have pooled our resources to cover as many bills and funeral costs as possible. However, despite our best efforts, we find ourselves falling short. This is why we turn to you, our extended family and friends, in our time of need.

Your generosity will not only assist us in honoring Papa Juan's memory with a dignified farewell but also provide much-needed support to our family as we navigate through this challenging period of loss and adjustment.
