Hi! My name is Nicole and I am looking for some help for my Mom and Dad. Back in March of this year, my dad who is a retired Navy Seabee veteran ended up in the ICU with severe pancreatitis. He was intubated and on a ventilator for 2 weeks resulting him being flown to Omaha for better/more intensive care. He was in the hospital in Omaha for awhile with many procedures done, constant ups and downs, etc. Since being intubated and in a hospital bed for so long he lost physical strength and muscle. He was sent to Madonna rehab where he regained enough back to be able to come home.

He was home for 3 weeks when he all of the sudden caught a bacterial infection and became septic really quick. We rushed him to ER and was back to being intubated and losing out on regaining his strength through PT, OT, ST. My mom has been an absolute trooper sticking by his side through these really hard 4 months. She hasn’t been working, he hasn’t been working so bills are piling up and we’re desperately needing help.

Anything and everything helps and is so appreciated! We’ve received help from the VA as far as getting him the tools he needs to be successful at home but he will not come home again for another 3+ weeks due to this infection and becoming septic. Our world and his has completely changed with how much help he needs to do even daily tasks like walking, talking, moving arms and legs, etc. My mom is trying to work to bring some sort of money in, but also has to take care of him so ultimately it’s not enough for monthly bills.
