My name is Nicole. I am 14 years clean/sober. I have been with my significant other since I was 17 years old; I am now 52. David is his name, and he is 58. He was recently diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma for the second time. This time it's inoperable, and he is unable to receive treatment for it due to his extenuating health issues; thus, he was placed on hospice.
I have worked hard to increase my education, employment status, and life over the last 14 years.
I am currently a clinical supervisor at a program for women who suffer from mental health and substance use disorders. I recently gave my notice at my job because I need to take care of David. My last day is September 9, and I'm going to need help.
We moved from Worcester into a new home in April. It definitely wasn't in my plan to have to afford a new house so soon by myself.
I have always been a helper, not someone who needs help. Anyone who knows me knows this.
I went to school to help animals and then to help people. I paid off my debt quickly.
I helped get cats off the street and find homes.
I have helped people get off the street and into treatment.
Now I'm asking for help!! If you can help, great; if not, please share.
I have a house payment, car payment, and regular bills to think about.
I do have a job that will end when David passes away.
Anyway, that's who I am and why I'm asking.
Thank you in advance for any help.
