We started this fundraiser to help raise some money to assist Nick with upcoming expenses related to Kevin's death on June 6. Kevin's life over the last 20 years had been marked by many periods when he was out of work and dealing with significant medical issues. Various family members had been supporting him, Amy (before her passing three years ago), and of course, Nick.

Kevin's situation in the last 10 years had esentially made Nick a defacto caregiver for his dad, where he was rarely able to leave him alone. Kevin died without money or insurance to pay for funeral costs and Nick is unable to absorb that. He did apply for and receive some funeral assistance through Jefferson County, but it doesn't cover all expenses.

John and I will continue to assist Nick in getting on his feet after his dad's death, but Nick can definitely use more help than just us.

Anything you are able to give would be greatly appreciated by Nick as he makes final arrangements for his dad and starts building a life of his own.
