3 Robberies & a Mexican Exodus (MEXODUS)

I have an unexpected emergency. This week I was robbed for the 3rd time in Mexico. Once a while back in Mexico City but now twice within a year in Tulum. This has seriously disrupted me economically. My cumulative financial losses now total around US$30k, including loss of essential work AV production equipment & key bank cards/cash.

One robbery is a serious life disruptor. Three needs a more radical response. I now need to raise emergency funds to cut my losses, leave Mexico & drive back to the USA.

My most critical items are safe: me, passport, laptop, phone, and a few backup cards in my Jeep vehicle. But there is no local renters insurance and it is highly doubtful anything will be recovered due to the corrupt nature of the multiple law enforcement agencies here.

The Security Minister of Tulum was also assassinated here recently this year so the situation has become unstable. Sadly, in 2025 it´s not the quiet, relaxing, peaceful place it once was.

I have never been robbed before, but 3 times in close succession has obliterated my emergency backup funds & decimated my work equipment. I now have to raise emergency funds to make the long drive back to California. This journey is one of 3,333 miles, across 15 states with 7-10 days driving plus tolls/fees/gas/motel stops along the route. Once safely back in the US I will regroup, rethink, recalibrate, recover and re-establish.

I truly appreciate any help you can donate however modest in navigating these freak circumstances as I rapidly replan life and logistics for a fast transition back to the USA.
