Help Support Michelle After the Loss of Her Beloved Gracie May
Hi, my name is Tana, and I’m writing on behalf of my mother, Michelle.
Last night, while my mom was taking her usual evening walk with her beloved dog Gracie May, something heartbreaking happened. A homeless man riding his bike on her street lost control of his dog, who then attacked Gracie May. We received the devastating call and rushed over. My wife took my mom and Gracie May straight to the emergency vet hospital, while I stayed behind with my grandmother.
After a difficult wait, we received the news we feared most: Gracie May had suffered five deep bite wounds that punctured her internal organs. There was nothing the vets could do. My mom was left with the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to her best friend.
If you know my mom, you know that Gracie May was everything to her. She has been her constant companion—through the darkest times, including her ongoing battle with cancer. Gracie May went everywhere with my mom. Truly, they were inseparable.
My mom is currently on disability due to her cancer and has very limited income. She would never ask for help herself, but we are reaching out on her behalf. The costs of emergency vet care, Gracie May’s cremation, and even just a night away to grieve and process are overwhelming.
If you’re able to donate, no amount is too small. Anything helps and would mean the world to her. And if you can’t give, please share this message. Let’s surround Michelle with love and support during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
