Hi, my name is Meghan, and I’m a single mom doing my best to care for my three amazing kids — Bentley (12), Abri (7), and Theo (4).

Recently, a fire caused damage to the property we rent. Thankfully, my children and I are safe — but now I’m facing something I never expected. Despite being a renter, my landlord is demanding that I cover the cost of nearly $5,000 in repairs, something that legally and ethically shouldn’t fall on my shoulders.

I’ve tried everything I can to negotiate, but I’m being backed into a corner. As a mom, I always put my kids first — food, safety, stability. Now, that’s being threatened because of an expense that isn’t mine to carry.

This has been emotionally and financially overwhelming. I’m humbly asking for help to raise $5,000 to cover this unfair charge and keep our lives from spiraling further.
