Our Baby Nephew Mateo’s Fight Has Ended — Please Help Us Say Goodbye

I’m heartbroken to share that my precious baby nephew, Mateo, was born at only 24 weeks because his umbilical cord was wrapped around the placenta. For two fragile weeks, he fought so bravely — a little warrior surrounded by so much love and hope.

For a moment, we dared to believe he might make it. But after being transferred for surgery, everything changed. The very next day, his head began filling with fluid, and then we learned he had a brain bleed so severe it was shifting his fragile brain.

We begged for a miracle, but my brave baby nephew’s fight came to an end. The pain for his parents and our whole family is unimaginable. No one should have to bury a child, especially one they just got to know and love so deeply.

On top of this heartbreak, there are medical bills and funeral expenses we cannot face alone. I’m reaching out to ask for help to give Mateo the peaceful goodbye he deserves and help with his celebration of life.
