Assist Maricel in Paying Final Respects to Joseph
Donation protected
The only immediate family I had left, my older brother, Joseph, passed away in his apartment in the Philippines. My brother, who played with me, protected me, fought with me and watched out for me, took me to his singing gigs, encouraged me to sing with him as well so I could build up my self confidence, brought me Dunkin Donuts after his work, is gone. The last time we saw each other was in 2017 and our last conversation spoke of his desire for us siblings, to see each other again.
Our Moms early death sent my brother to depression. He consoled himself through singing. Our Dads passing didn’t make it any better. And to know that he had to hide his true identity due to cultural narratives must have been difficult for him as well. Nevertheless, he managed it through and I, being the only family he had left, had to be the one to stand strong for both of us, supporting him financially until his last moments.
My job at Walmart with a mortgage left by my deceased husband has put me in a financial position sufficient enough just to pay the bills and help my brother. To leave work, leave my dog to be able to see my brother one last time and pay my respects, is my hearts desire but something that is impossible to do on my own at this time.
I do not know how I could do this but to ask with all humility to please help me get to my brother in the Philippines just one last time.
I would really appreciate any help you could extend.
May God continue to bless your generous hearts with more grace, happiness and peace.
Thank you in advance.
