On Monday, April 14th, Lauren was in a horrific car accident. We are thankful that she is alive and is able to continue to be a wonderful momma to her son.

Unfortunately, the accident did a lot of damage. She is dealing with a dislocated left hip, dislocated left knee, broken right femur, shattered right patella, two breaks in the right fibula, and broken right ankle. She had surgery to piece everything back together, but the road to recovery is going to be long.

To ensure proper healing, her right leg is non-weight bearing and immobilized for at least 6 weeks, and it will be a few months before she can attempt walking.

Lauren is working very hard in rehab, but she will be unable to live independently for some time. The plan is for her to come live with her parents, Chris and Carole, for several months. As she is currently reliant on a wheelchair, the most immediate need is a ramp for her to get in and out of the house. Even renting a ramp is an expense we are not prepared for. The rehab facility is also reluctant to discharge her without this accommodation.

We are hoping that you will be able to help Lauren as she heals from this.
