Assist Lauren in Closing Her Loved Ones' Estates

My name is Lauren and I’m raising funds to help close the estates of my late Grandmother and Uncle. Funds will be used for paying outstanding bills and fees, cleaning out the house as well as the necessary travel and lodging expenses for myself that will incur as I seek to close their

estates.

My grandparents, Russ & Audrey raised me in their home in Western New York. Audrey was my hero. She advocated for me; she was there through every trial and joy in my life. Audrey was deeply involved in her community and church and brought such sunshine to all that met her. Her house was my home. I remember picking raspberries with her in the field and waiting for the school bus in the front yard. I remember playing her piano and walking down the stairs for prom. My Grandma loved her house, and it was a haven for me.

It broke my heart to lose my Grandma in February 2022. My uncle was left the executor of her estate. Unfortunately, he suffered from many mental illnesses that resulted in his inability to complete his responsibilities as executor. Additionally, his mental illness caused him to hoard things excessively in the house and on the property, such that I cannot even recognize the home that I so dearly loved. My uncle passed away in the house this past January 2024. I now find myself in charge of wrapping up all loose ends of both their wills. It has been very challenging and especially difficult as I live quite a distance away out of state.

After a recent visit to the house, it needs to be professionally cleaned out and sanitized. We have not yet found my Grandmother’s ashes, presumed to be somewhere in the house; I would really like to recover them. My heart breaks at the current state of the house and property (see pictures). I realize that I need help. It is a very humbling thing to ask for help and I do not enter into it lightly. However, I do not have the financial resources needed to complete the job before me. There are bills piling on to the house, attorney fees, and the daunting costs for cleaning out the house. I have no car and my finances cover my living expenses and some recent personal medical issues.

Donations would go toward those bills, fees, and cleanup costs (cleaning services, dumpsters, etc.) as well as toward lodging or transportation for myself so I can be on site to complete my tasks as executor.
