Assist Laura in Paying Car Repairs From Attack

Hi all :) first and foremost I want to say thank you for visiting and stopping in to read my story. In September, I was physically assaulted by a woman while walking in a park and she had attacked me because of my choice in attire that day. I was wearing regular athletic wear but she had a problem because I was not wearing a bra. It was quite a traumatic experience for me, but what had been getting me through is accessing my traditional Indigenous knowledge through ceremonies, reaching out to talk when I need to and receiving prayers and healing vibes from so many people around the world. It means so much to me. All this to say, I’ve been doing okay since that day early in September.
I have my days, where sometimes the event plays in my mind like it happened yesterday, but for the most part I have been moving forward and healing through this process. As a single, Indigenous woman who lives on my own and relies on myself to cover all of my bills on my own, this set me back. If my goal is reached, I will be saving any and all additional funds to go towards legal counsel as I would like to fight this in a civil case towards her and the man who attempted to smash my driver side window because I was unwillingly confined to the parking lot and I deserve justice. I work very hard and I plan to have a call out to artists who may be able to donate art pieces or jewelry to auction to the highest bidder. In the meantime, this fundraiser will assist with the repair costs to my vehicle because the lady rammed her bike into my car, she then climbed on top of the hood and scratched and dented the entire hood which needed to be replaced, among other repairs.
I have such an immense amount of gratitude because I am safe, but something like this can happen to anyone. People should continue to be aware of their surroundings and know that it can be an unsafe world out there for BIPOC.
