Assist La'Sha's Healing Journey

La’Sha Heard could use some help with unexpected medical expenses. She had major foot surgery in December. She spent 3 weeks in the hospital and 6 weeks in a care facility recovering. She will be in a wheelchair and require assistance for quite a while.
La’Sha has been working since she was a teenager. This is the first time in many decades that she is unable to work and get a regular paycheck. The lack of income and the need to pay a very high copay for in-home health care has put her in a tough spot.

La'Sha is a person who regularly helps to build bridges and bring people together. She has worked at Los Altos Christian School for many years. Students call her grandma and spend their recess time hanging out with her in the front office. One of the many ways La'Sha has impacted students is by humbly sharing her experience as one of the first five African American children to integrate an all white school district in Georgia in 1967. She shares the extraordinary challenges she faced and the invaluable life lessons she learned in a way that inspires others.

She is well-loved and could use significant help with funds to pay for necessary care. Some of the costs she will need help with include: in home care, medical bills, and getting her apartment wheelchair ready. Please consider helping her out.
