Friends, family and well to do strangers..
When a disaster strikes in your family, it can be difficult to find a way to pick up the pieces.
On Sunday afternoon, my Mother's apartment caught fire while she was away at church. When she returned home, she found it in shambles by a fire that had consumed her entire bedroom and moments away from burning the entire apartment.
Her dog, Gucci, was in the home at the time of the fire but thanks to some quick acting samaritans, he was saved and unharmed.
As you can imagine, at this time, my Mother (and Gucci) are in need of quite a bit. Clothes, food, furniture, electronics, appliances, toiletries, bedding etc. While some items are salvageable, a great majority has been ruined by either being burned or heavily covered in soot and smoke, which can be a daunting task to remove, if even possible.
Gratefully, she has been relocated to a new apartment so she does have adequate shelter. But due to the condition and unsafety of her burned apartment, the complex is requiring all salvageable items to be removed within the next 48hrs.
I consider myself a fairly private person but l also understand the might and power in community. And I know, that one person's testimony can be another person's blessing.
SO, all that being said..
We will happily accept prayers, blessings, well wishes and thoughts. As well as advice and any information that could be helpful in getting through this process moving forward
Thank you,
La and Fam.
