Assist Kylie and Rylie in Honor of Debbie's Wish
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Zoe Lipman. I am writing regarding my sister, Debbie Mamerto Sins, her daughter, Kylie Sins, and her granddaughter, Rylie Sins. My sister was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2022. She has fought like a champ through surgery and chemo and chemo and more chemo. She wanted to live. She said she was afraid of dying because what would happen to her daughter and granddaughter if she wasn’t there to take care of them. They have lived with her all of their lives, and she has basically supported both of them. Now Debbie surely didn’t have a lot of money to be supporting herself and them. But she made it work. For example, the three of them lived in a two bedroom apartment where Kylie and Rylie had their own bedrooms and Debbie‘s bedroom was basically the sofa. But she never complained about this situation. Her granddaughter is still in high school, and Debbie has been so proud of her being on the dance team. Her daughter, Kylie, does work a full-time job, but the pay doesn’t make ends meet and it doesn’t even pay the rent. Basically, now my sister has given up the good fight, mainly because her oncologist said there is nothing else they can do for her at this point. She’s home with us on hospice, and I don’t think it will be very long. I knew there would be financial struggles for her daughter and granddaughter as well as us being able to meet their emotional needs. However, it did not occur to me to start a GoFundMe page… until today, when I was able to sit down and have a little conversation with my sister about it being OK for her to go on and that we would take care of her daughter and granddaughter. She then asked me if I could start a GoFundMe page for them. She said every little bit would count. I looked her in the eye and I said I will do that and I will go do it now. So here I am. For the past week, my sister has been very miserable, with a lot of pain and anxiety. She has also been suffering with a terrible burning in her esophagus. Debbie has not eaten anything in over a month. And she drinks only a few sips of water here and there. That’s all she can tolerate. I don’t like to say this because it is very painful, but I really don’t think she has very long left to live. But I guess God is in charge of that, not me. So anyway, I am basically fulfilling my sister’s last wish so that her daughter and granddaughter will be able to make it without my sister here to help them. And even if no money or not very much money comes through this GoFundMe page, I am doing it mainly to fulfill my sister’s wishes and to do what I said I would do for her.
So okay, I started doing this GoFundMe page on March 1, which is the day before my sister died and also the day that she asked me to do this GoFundMe page. I’m finally getting around to finishing it. Debbie died peacefully on March 2, 2025. Our extended family has been very supportive and trying to help Debbie’s daughter Kylie and her granddaughter Rylie. But we just can’t do it all. Their need is so evident already. So if you should be moved to do so, please do what you can to help Debbie’s daughter and granddaughter. Thank you so much. Sincerely, Zoe Lipman.
