Assist Juan Gutierrez in Achieving His Educational Dreams

Hello, my name is Lilly James and I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friend, Juan Gutierrez. I met Juan 6 years ago while he was studying in the United States. While in the U.S., Juan maintained an excellent GPA, earning Dean's List recognition, while also serving over 1,000 hours of community service working in a Child Development Program.

Since then, Juan has continued to excel in his educational endeavors. In 2024, Juan graduated with a BA in Education with a focus on Modern Languages, while maintaining honors status on the President's List. Now, Juan has been accepted with full-ride admission to the University of Illinois for an MA Program in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

Last July, Juan was named an Opportunity Fund Grant Recipient from the U.S. State Department. This grant was for $8k, intended to help him secure visas, necessary tests for admission, international flights, and relocation costs.

Unfortunately, the funding for the program has been eliminated, and now Juan is seeking $3,000 to compensate for the lost grant funding to assist him in his relocation.
