My name is Jorge, and I am raising funds for my mother Delia's funeral arrangements and memory. As you may or may not know, my mother had a successful heart transplant in February of 2023. A time where we thought she would last us many more years with a new healthy heart, but as ecstatic and thankful as we are to the donor, we had no idea what obstacles of keeping said heart she truly faced. Faced with many challenges from kidney failure to water retention, Delia spent most of her gifted days in the hospital for the next 2 years. Unfortunately, on June 28, 2025, Delia's fight had ended, but along with that fight came a victory that none of us are truly prepared to look at as a win. For God ended her suffering and pain, and although I know this is not a “goodbye,” but a “see you later,” the pain I feel knowing I will never see you in this lifetime seems unbearable. I want everyone who knew my mother to remember her as not only a wife, a mother, or a grandmother, but as a fighter.

And with your help, we can lay her down to rest. This GoFundMe is to simply grant her the wish of being laid down to rest with her mother and father in her native land of Jayuya, Puerto Rico. Not only would this cover her expenses, but the transportation of said ashes.
