As a lot of you may know, the local restaurant chain Bobcat Bonnie’s has struggled a lot as of late. Going from almost 10 locations, down to just 1 in about a year. Many staff and employees left to fend on their own without notice of losing their jobs or the fact that they may not receive the last of their hard earned money. Just recently on Sunday evening (06/01/2025) they announced that in less than 24 hours they would be shuttering the doors yet again of another location. Leaving lots of employees caught off guard with no plan of action, and no savings to prepare for this. Servers are still owed for the past three weeks of tips including Ferndale Pride weekend. Back of the House workers and the managers are still owed hundreds if not thousands in back checks from being bounced. Buskard has made attempts to pay off some of these debts, but most were left short or still nothing at all. Staff is being told that they are waiting on Buskard to sell furniture, plate/glassware, and other products from the restaurant/offices before he has the means to pay off the rest of his debts. All of this unfortunate mess inconveniently happened to happen on the first of the month. Many are waiting the rest of, if not all of their pay to manage rent/mortgages and other bills racking up. This team was so close, they all consider each other like family and all going through this struggle together.
