Dear Family & Friends,

The photo above is of my brother, Christopher, my niece, Zoi, and my sister in law, Joan. It was a special night for our family. Celebrating our cousins wedding. We had no idea that 5 months later we would be preparing for Joan’s celebration of life. Her sudden passing on 10/3/25 has been such a devastating loss for our family.

In August, Joan Ragiles was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer. She spent a total of 8 days in the hospital with hopes her body would become healthy enough for treatment, but the disease was too aggressive. Unfortunately, she was never able to regain enough strength to receive any cancer treatment and instead started in home hospice care two weeks ago.

Joan grew up in Hawaii, where her immediate family resides. As the prognosis changed, her family including her parents, siblings, and other children came to be at her side.

Our family was not prepared for this devastating loss or the financial hardship. We are reaching out to our community for support in honoring her memory and to help her immediate families expenses. Any contribution- no matter how small will help alleviate the financial strain and help us focus on grieving and honoring Joan.

Funds raised will go towards specific expenses, such as her hospital stay, cremation costs, memorial arrangements, travel for her immediate family members, rental car, and any remaining money will go to the care of her remaining minor child, Zoi. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in ensuring that Joan is laid to rest with the dignity and respect she deserves.
