Assist Jen in Rebuilding After Car Fire

On Friday, July 4th, I lost my car to a fire. I pulled into work, parked, and went inside to start my shift at Walmart. Within minutes I was called over the PA to come to the front of the store. My car was smoking and the flames had just started. In mere minutes, my car was fully engulfed. There was nothing I could do but watch my vehicle go up in flames.

I am so grateful and blessed that nobody was hurt. I parked my car at 6:06 AM. I walked into the store at 6:08. Just 17 seconds later the smoke started. A few minutes after that, the fire was raging.

I am so lucky I wasn’t driving at the time. This could have been so much worse! But, I wasn’t hurt, nobody was, and no other vehicles were damaged. I absolutely have my loved ones above looking out for me. My husband, brother, and lifelong best friend being the most recent people who have crossed over.

I loved my car. A beautiful 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. Only 136,000 miles. Great condition for its age, especially since I just put almost $2000 into it just a few months ago. I’ve had her for over 5 years, and I wasn’t ready to let this car go. But she was taken from me. My only transportation to get me to work everyday.

I only had liability insurance. Unfortunately, I am not covered for this tragedy. Big lesson learned!

I absolutely hate asking for help. I wish I could handle this on my own. I can’t right now. I’m doing my best, but I really do need help.

So many people have asked me if there is a GoFundMe they can donate to, so I am regretfully setting this up for myself. I hope I’m not coming off as selfish or greedy, or even worse, a pathetic beggar. I truly don’t want anyone to look down on me.

I started the fundraiser to make it easier for the amazing people who want to help me get back on my feet again.
