It breaks my heart that the unimaginable is happening to a dear friend of mine. She loves all of her horses dearly but Tia, in particular, has a soft spot in her heart. Tia is a Bizkit baby and therefore one of the lines she had secretly always hoped to one day own.
Unfortunately, their journey took a MAJOR detour two weeks ago. What seemed like a simple accident has turned in to a nightmare. Tia tried to jump a fence and banged up her chest pretty bad. Seems fine on the surface right? What horse hasn't tangled with a fence in some capacity? In this case, it set off a chain reaction or fevers, infections, meds, lethargy, colitis, gastritis, inflamed stomach, inflamed bowel and so on.
Tia is fighting! She is a fighter but she has now landed at Tufts Veterinary Hospital in hopes of saving her life. Jamie is fighting along right beside her but can only do so much. We all make plans in the event of an emergency but what happens when the emergency becomes a NIGHTMARE. You hope for an angel or a light to shine and support you. My hope is that we can take a moment to be that light for Jamie and Tia
Jamie's bills are over $20,000 already and even with the insurance she has, it still won't be enough to cover it all. Tia has a long road to recovery and will have a long journey of after care. Although she would never ask for help, I am. Times are hard for all of us right now in some capacity but if you can, please consider supporting Jamie in her journey to help save Tia. Any amount helps more than you can imagine. She will fight as long as Tia does and for as long as they can. If now is not the right time for you to make a contribution, can you share her story? Once this is done and Jamie has more answers, she hopes to share Tia's story so others may learn from her experience dealing with ulcers, nightmare emergencies, and the roller coaster of horse ownership.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for helping
Anything donated and not used for her vet bills will be donated right back to Tufts for research!
Jamie will continue to give updates as the days go on!
