Assist in Zoey's Comfortable Goodbye
Donation protected
This fundraiser is to help pay for at-home euthanasia service and private cremation of my beloved cat, Zoey.
As of 6/4/24, Zoey was diagnosed with cancer. Oral squamous cell carcinoma.
Zoey is 15, going on 16, and spent 12-13 of those years with me. She was adopted from one of the adoption programs in a pet's mart, and I'll never forget how they scolded me about asking if she was declawed already.
She was overweight, scared, and confused about her new surroundings, but after a while warmed up to me and my boyfriend at the time, and showed her comfort by sitting -in- the room with us, but never near or on us.
She loved playing outside and despite being declawed in the front, was a very good hunter of mice and small birds, sometimes leaving us "gifts." I always praised her, especially when the mouse was caught inside one of the houses we lived in.
Zoey and I moved a total of 7 times together, 3 months of those spent living in tents. That's why home euthanasia is so important to me for her. She is always stressed going to the vet, and deserves to rest in her final home.
I found a local service, Serenity Vet Care that can assist with Zoey at the end of her time. I called and spoke to them to confirm they visit my area, pricing, and made sure I had the information I needed before moving forward.
The at-home euthanasia charge is $350
Travel +$50
Private cremation is $250
If I happen to raise beyond my goal, the rest of the funds will be donated to a local pet shelter, either Kalkaska or Traverse City.
Any amount helps make this an easier part of the process. Thanks for reading and please share with others!
