Our Tara, a devoted single mother, giver of 17 years of commitment and service to her community as a dedicated police officer. Her warm and lively presence, cherished by family and friends, created a beautiful network of connection on the Sunshine Coast and nationally.
Tara’s life recently took an unexpected turn when she experienced a major splenic artery aneurysm. The deadly emergency caused her to bleed internally, with a mere 6 liters of blood to begin with, she lost 4.3 liters, teetering on the edge of life.
Tara underwent critical emergency surgery.
Tara was placed in a coma and on a ventilator in ICU for 8 long days which unfolded in a haunting time of silence, Tara submerged in a coma with no glimpse of consciousness.
Then, on the 8th day, a fragile awakening occurred—a testament to her resilience.
Prior to the aneurysm she was hospitalised for Influenza and a flare up or her rare auto immune disease which means she had spent a month in hospital confined to bed rest. Upon waking from her coma, Tara battled multiple infections and complications from the surgery/condition which has left her fatigued and very fragile to further complications.
The path ahead is laden with uncertainty, demanding 6 to 12 months of intensive outpatient rehabilitation. With multiple visits to the hospital each week and Tara being unable to return to work, she now faces another challenge of financial hardship.
Tara’s journey is not one she walks alone. Your contribution, no matter how modest, becomes a beacon of hope. It stands as a testament to compassion, alleviating the weight of financial struggles for those closest to her. As we all understand the rising cost of living, your input will contribute to hospital travel, meal deliveries, bills and cost of raising a child.
Join us in aiding her healing. We all know Tara would be the first in line to offer help and support for anyone else.
Each gesture, every donation, is a loving help step forward in her recovery. Thank you to those who have already extended their love— it’s the positive light in Tara’s journey.
