Help Me Pay Off My Son’s Headstone

I’ve gone back and forth about even making this, because I’m not someone who usually asks for help. But lately, the emotional weight of this has been heavier than I can carry alone.

My son Rocket was born at 24 weeks and spent his short life (49 days) in the NICU. We couldn’t get life insurance for him, and I covered most costs for his funeral myself. Now, a year later, I don’t have my baby here with me but I do have debt from having him. Between Baptist, UAMS, and his headstone, I owe around $9,000.

At first, I didn’t mind making the payments. In a way, it made me feel like I was still taking care of my son. But now, every month when I call to make a payment and have to say, “This is for my child’s headstone,” it just… breaks me. I don’t want to be in debt to my child’s memory. I just want to be able to visit him and grieve without that extra burden.
