With a very heavy heart, I write this. My name is Melissa, and on November 8, Trevor, my brother, gained his wings and went with the Lord. Trevor was so kind-hearted; he loved taking his nephews to the movies and spoiling them on Christmas and birthdays. He helped our mother take care of our disabled grandfather, putting his CNA skills to use at work and home.
At this time, anything can help my mom lay her son to rest. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate all the kind words. Once we figure out more we will put out service information.
Trevor Ryan Hegstad
October 19, 2000 – November 8, 2025
Trevor Ryan Hegstad, 25, passed away on November 8, 2025. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose kind heart and infectious sense of humor touched everyone who knew him.
Trevor was a kind soul, full of laughter and smiles. He was always giving—and even through death, he continues to give as an organ donor. Trevor had a special gift for bringing people together; he could unite the family through games and activities, creating memories that will last forever.
Trevor loved to cook, even if it wasn't edible—his secret ingredient was always cinnamon. He had a deep passion for music and learned to play the saxophone, flute, clarinet, violin and oboe. Trevor also loved movies and cherished taking his nephews to the theater, where they bonded and made memories together.
Trevor was dedicated to the things he loved and had many skills. One of his proudest accomplishments was earning his CNA license, where he truly thrived in helping others.
He is survived by his mother, Jackie Hegstad; his sisters, Ashlye Justus, Melissa Hegstad, and Sarah Hegstad; his stepfather, Berry Maddox; and his stepsisters. He also leaves behind his grandparents, Evelyn and Gary Michaels, and grandmother Dorothy Hegstad. Trevor is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him, along with several nephews and one niece who all will forever cherish the memories they shared with their Uncle Trevor.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Hegstad; grandfather, Marvin Hegstad; great-grandmother, Dorothy Love; and several aunts and uncles.
Trevor’s life, though far too short, was filled with love, laughter, and joy. His family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace and reunited with his father and loved ones who passed before him in Heaven.
A celebration of Trevor’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and the light he brought into their lives. Trevor will be deeply missed and forever loved.
