Assist in Honoring Kyler Cavitt's Memory

Donation protected
Our family was recently struck by an unexpected loss. My 28-year-old stepson, Kyler Cavitt, passed away from a sudden heart issue.

We still have a lot of unanswered questions as to why this happened. But what we do know is that we have to start bringing him home and laying him to rest.

Kyler was extremely proud to be in the carpentry union and took a traveling job in Arizona. We have been blessed to have already figured out his transportation back home to Oregon, but there is still a considerable amount of other costs that we were just simply not prepared for at this time.

I write this for Kyler's mom Gengee Ramirez, his stepfather Jose Inez Ramirez, as well as for his father Dennis & I, who together are organizing a Memorial Fund in his name to help with these unplanned costs.

For those of you who have ever met Kyler, you'll know that he was a person of great kindness. He was the firstborn and oldest child of three. He was the most incredible best friend to his younger sister Kayla, one year apart and inseparable from the beginning. And Kyler was the epitome of the big brother protector to his youngest sister Kitt. The world just felt a little safer and a little more comforting with him in it.

You knew if he sent you a video on Instagram that it was going to make you smile. You knew that if he was calling you, you would be able to talk about anything and everything and he was never in a hurry to hang up. Kyler could put anyone at ease. And when he laughed at your jokes, his giggle would be full-bodied and you would feel like a million bucks.

Kyler's family was what he was most proud of. It was his anchor and his compass. He was not married and did not have any children. But he was a great son. A wonderful grandchild. A loving nephew. A supportive cousin. And the true definition of the Best Big Brother.

This loss to his entire family is just extremely hard to accept. We are all in a great deal of shock as well as deep sadness.

No parent plans for this.

If you would like to contribute, we would forever be grateful.

Thank you.
