Assist in Easing Financial Burden After Diane's Death

On April 24th, 2025, at about 4:30 p.m., my life changed forever. My wife, Diane, was walking when she was struck by a pickup. She was taken to the ER with severe brain injuries. I was able to get to the ER to see my wife, my life, lying there with people working feverishly to stabilize her in order to transport her by helicopter to Abington Hospital Neurological ICU unit. I was able to stay with her that night. She also had a nurse all night the first night. She never regained consciousness, never got to say goodbye. After a week in the ICU, my wife died on May 1. My wife was gone. During this whole time, I was totally helpless to help her.
While insurance will help cover costs, I am uncertain how much. And the medical bills are mounting fast – the first notice I received was for $65,000 for just the first day. Just meeting normal bills is a challenge on my fixed and very limited income. We did nothing wrong, but yet I have lost my wife and now I may lose my home. I am in deep need of financial help as I grieve my wife’s death.
Diane and I were planning to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We would have celebrated on May 21st; instead, I planned a funeral. Having to go through the pain of watching her pass, to watching the top of her coffin close, to having to say goodbye, watching her being lowered into the ground, and I was driven away bewildered by what in the world just happened? Now I am seeing a therapist, psychiatrist, and attending a grief group.
Each and every day, I am now alone. With a huge part of me taken from me. Sudden and forever. My wife was my caretaker, the person who took care of everything in my life. Now I feel lost without her, and my emotions have gone wild.
I am blessed with a great church, a small congregation but extremely supportive because we all know each other, we all feel the loss. Great friends from over the years who have also been extremely supportive. Also, I am blessed with good neighbors who have also made sure I ate and have helped out a lot with our dog.
But even with all those blessings, we live in a world where finances such as medical bills and now housing bills become an issue as our household income is cut in half.

Here I am asking friends and strangers to help me now.
Thank you for your kindness and may God bless you!
