As many of you know, my dad, Franky McElhaney, is battling IBM (Inclusion Body Myositis). This is an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation to his muscles along with weakening and deteriorating the muscles and bones over time. Unfortunately, there is NO cure for this, and this disease causes even more health issues as it takes over his body. One example: he has aplastic anemia due to this, so his immune system is weakened and is much more susceptible to infections than most. Since he has had this crippling disease for a while now, he has reached the point of needing additional assistance to be able to get around. Soon he will get leg braces to help with stability as well as physical therapy a couple of times a week! As time goes on, he will need other equipment to help him as well.

My stepmom, Twila, has become his full-time caregiver due to this, and they could really use some financial assistance at this time. I created this fundraiser to help cover medical expenses, additional equipment needed as his disease progresses, and to help with monthly bills since Twila is needed at home to help my dad.
