Assist Fei Lao Shi

As you know, we have encountered one unprecedented situation after another this year. For the most part, our community has come through the ups and downs of a pandemic year without too much disruption, however, we have been made aware of an incredibly difficult situation affecting one of our teachers and we wanted to offer you an opportunity to pitch in if you would like to do so. Your participation in this endeavor is completely optional and any support you provide would be directed through parent community channels rather than as a school-based program.  Please feel free to  forward this request.  

FROM Fei Lao Shi:

My father was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer last September. Early in April he was admitted to the ICU with metastasis in multiple organs and has been hospitalized ever since. This has been a great hardship for my family and I.   I have not seen my family in 3 years and have been planning to fly back to China to to spend time with my Dad because of his terminal illness.  It took me weeks to make up my mind to book the flight because the trip is far beyond what I can afford.  Airfare alone is over $14k, with added expenses for 3 weeks quarantine at a hotel once I land, and another two weeks of quarantine in a third country before I return due to the current travel ban.  

I understand that our community has been working together closely to support community members who are in desperate need. PKS has always been a big family to me since I joined the school in 2016. I am reaching out now to ask for your help with some financial assistance. It would be tremendously appreciated if you could assist me to ease the burden.
