Our family met and decided we will hold a Celebration of Life service on April 18 at The Church at Union Park, 821 Arthur Avenue in Des Moines. This date allows for safe travel for Sarah’s family in Tulsa and time to plan a beautiful service. Our immediate family will also hold a private celebration in December. Thank you for all the donations, prayers, and emotional support. Thank you, Nan and Sherry, for the beautiful flowers. I enjoyed them at home, and they are now in the sanctuary for Sunday service. On December 1st, my mom passed away unexpectedly after a lifelong battle with addiction. She had just been accepted into a new rehab program and was about to start treatment again, giving all of us hope that this would be the turnaround she deserved. Despite her struggles, she was active in the church and was surrounded by a community of people who loved her deeply and never stopped believing in her. She was a loving, complicated, and caring person who fought harder than most people ever will. Her passing has left our family heartbroken and facing unexpected expenses during an already devastating time. Any support—financial or otherwise—means more than we can say as we try to honor her life and lay her to rest with dignity. Thank you for helping us during this painful transition.
