My brother, Elgin, was a true warrior in many aspects, having endured ALOT of life at an early age. The past 3 to 4 years have really been a test of his endurance, will, persistence, and strength as he battled a series of chronic health conditions (brain surgery, endless cancer treatments, daily chronic pain). I could not imagine the mental fortitude it takes to wake up everyday and keep going amidst all that he has been through.
The way life works is that sometimes you may have a grip on one thing - and another thing knocks you down. Sadly, Elgin has passed away suddenly to cardiac arrest amidst the longstanding battle of stage 4 lung cancer. It is a traumatic loss for our family - as Elgins cancer was well-managed by the grace of god alone. He went into cardiac arrest on December 10, one month after celebrating his birthday, and unfortunately was unable to be revived the second time.
With the unexpected tragedy, we are seeking any support that can be offered to assist as we lay elgin to a peaceful release. As we were a small family , we do not intend to have a traditional service setting and have found alternative options- any and all support with this goal will help us meet this expense.
