Help Me Be With My Aunt During Her Final Days
Hello, my name is Ebony Wright, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart.
My beloved Aunt and Godmother has just been placed on hospice care. She has been given only 3 to 5 weeks to live. Her final wish is to remain at home, surrounded by love and comfort. She specifically asked me to be there with her and help care for her during this time — a request I am honored to fulfill.
Unfortunately, I am not in a position to get there without help. I recently laid my baby brother to rest, and the emotional and financial toll of that loss has left me with no resources to make this trip.
I currently live in Aiken, South Carolina, and she is in Corpus Christi, Texas — over 1,200 miles away, making this a round trip of more than 2,400 miles. I have a reliable vehicle, but it needs about $2,000 in fuel and maintenance (including two new tires and a tune-up) to make the journey safely.
I am seeking to raise $3,500 to cover:
Travel expenses (fuel, food, vehicle prep)
Temporary lodging if needed
Basic costs of staying for the duration of her homegoing
This is one of the hardest seasons of my life, and I never imagined having to ask for help like this — but I truly cannot do it without you.
Any amount you can give will help, and even if you can’t donate, a share means the world to me.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me be there for someone who has always been there for me. With much gratitude and humility I thank you all.
With love and gratitude,
Ebony Wright
