Last Monday, February 10, 2025 my brother Doug had an electrical fire in his camper while trying to make dinner. He suffered third degree burns to both his hands, face and head. He lived in a remote area in northern Idaho near our cousins. He was brought to a local hospital and eventually flown to Seattle to a level one trauma hospital for the region. Since last week he has endured some painful procedures to clean the wounds and has had aloe grafts on his hands. He will eventually start a grafting process for a permanent healing of his body, so more surgery. Doug lives a simple life, doesn’t ask for anything and just loves to be outside when he can. He has always worked with his hands doing work on his car, building things and handyman type work. He will have at least another month in the hospital having procedures done and starting PT when he is able. He would never ask for help financially so I am starting this fundraiser to help him get on his feet when he is able to go “home”. Right now he is homeless and worried about how to pay for a new place to live, replacing clothes and other household items he might need along with the medical bills that are going to be piling up. I’m not sure what his future holds, if he can return to work. Asking for help is hard but I know I am unable to help him without getting extra support. Anything you could donate would be greatly appreciated to help Doug get on his feet and allow him to focus on healing and getting better each day. I’ve tried to remind him of this on our daily calls.
THANK YOU for taking the time to read this and keep him in your prayers.
